Ingredients

  • Baked cupcakes in Jumbo Pink Swirl cupcake liners
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Piping bag fitted with a #1M piping tip
  • Gold candy coating: 1 lb yellow candy melts + 46 orange wafers + 7 brown wafers
  • Paramount Crystals (as needed)
  • Unicorn horn chocolate mold
  • Large marshmallows, cut diagonally
  • Rainbow edible glitter
  • Royal icing flower layons
  • Jewel dust spray (pump)

Instructions

Mold the Unicorn Horns
To achieve a rich, metallic gold color, combine the yellow candy melts, orange wafers, and brown wafers in a microwave-safe container. Melt at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each round until smooth.
If the coating seems thick, add Paramount Crystals one spoonful at a time, stirring until you reach a smooth, pourable consistency. Transfer the melted coating into a squeeze bottle for easy filling.
Fill the unicorn horn mold carefully, tapping it gently on the counter to release any air bubbles. Place the mold in the freezer for 10–15 minutes. Once the mold turns cloudy, the horns are ready to pop out cleanly.
Helpful Tip:
To keep the candy coating fluid between moldings, lay the squeeze bottle on its side in an electric skillet lined with 4–5 towels on the lowest heat setting.
Prepare the Ears
Cut large marshmallows in half diagonally to create ear shapes. Dip the cut sides into rainbow edible glitter and set aside to dry.
Assembly
Fill a piping bag with buttercream and fit it with a #1M tip. Pipe a tall swirl or a mound of stars onto each cupcake, creating a sturdy base for your decorations.
Gently place the unicorn horn in the center, then add the glittered marshmallow ears and royal icing flower layons. Finish with a light mist of jewel dust spray for an extra touch of sparkle.
These unicorn cupcakes are perfect for birthdays, themed parties, or anytime you want to add a little magic to your baking.
