Follow along as we emboss fondant with a textured pattern, cut out delicate snowflakes, and trace each detail with royal icing. Let's bring the beauty of winter indoors and create edible works of art that will dazzle and delight all who see them!
Instructions
Bake the Cookies: Using snowflake-shaped cookie cutters from the set, bake your cookies according to your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Allow them to cool completely before decorating.
Prepare the Texture Mat: Lightly spray the texture mat with cooking spray. Use a paper towel to wipe off any excess spray.
Roll Out Fondant: Roll out your fondant to approximately 1/8 inch thickness on a clean surface. Ensure it's large enough to cover the texture mat.
Apply Fondant to Texture Mat: Carefully place the rolled fondant over the texture mat. Gently press down to ensure it adheres well to the texture.
Texture the Fondant: Using a rolling pin, roll over the fondant once to imprint the texture onto it.
Remove the Texture Mat: Carefully lift and remove the texture mat from the fondant. The textured pattern should now be visible on the fondant.
Cut Out Fondant Shapes: Use the snowflake-shaped cookie cutter from the set to cut out fondant snowflakes. Ensure each snowflake is the same size as your cookies.
Attach Fondant to Cookies: Using piping gel or a thin layer of buttercream, gently attach the fondant snowflakes to the cooled cookies.
Trace the Design with Royal Icing: Using royal icing in a piping bag fitted with a small round tip, trace over the textured design on the fondant snowflakes. You can use a contrasting color to make the design stand out.
Allow to Set: Allow the royal icing to dry completely before serving or packaging your Textured Snowflake Cookies.
With these steps, you'll create beautifully textured and decorated snowflake cookies that are perfect for winter-themed gatherings or holiday treats!
