Instructions

Flood Consistency Icings in yellow, blue, pink, green and orange
Stiff consistency icing in green.
*To decorate an egg-shaped cookie with colorful stripes, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Outline and Flood with Yellow Icing: Use yellow flood consistency royal icing to outline and flood the entire surface of the egg-shaped cookie.
Smooth and Shape: While the yellow icing is still wet, gently smooth and shape it using a scribe tool. This ensures a neat and uniform surface on the cookie.
Pipe Horizontal Lines: While the yellow icing is still wet, pipe horizontal lines in orange, pink, green, and blue, following the curvature of the egg. Space the lines evenly across the surface of the cookie.
Create Pattern: Using the scribe tool, carefully pull it down through the icing, following the shape of the egg. Clean scribe tool after each use to ensure clean lines and prevent unintentional color mixing. Repeat this process across the entire width of the cookie.
Add Crisscross Pattern: After pulling the scribe tool down through the icing, repeat the process by pulling it up through the icing in between the downward lines. This creates a crisscross pattern on the cookie's surface.
Sprinkle wet icing with a few nonpareils.
Allow the cookies to dry overnight to ensure that the icing sets completely and the decorations are secure.
*To create an intricate design on the egg cookie, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Divide into Sections and Flood with Blue Icing: Divide the egg cookie into 5 sections. Using blue flood consistency royal icing, outline and flood the top, middle, and bottom sections, leaving a blank space in between. Use a scribe tool to smooth and shape the blue icing. While the blue icing is still wet, pipe pink and yellow dots onto the flooded sections. Allow the icing to crust over.
Flood with Pink Icing and Add Horizontal Lines: With flood consistency pink icing, outline and flood the blank spaces between the blue sections. Use a scribe tool to smooth and shape the pink icing.
While the pink icing is still wet, pipe horizontal lines in blue, orange, and yellow, following the curvature of the egg. Space the lines evenly across the pink sections.
Create Texture and Crisscross Pattern: Using the scribe tool, carefully pull it down through the icing, following the shape of the egg, and continue across the entire width of the cookie. Clean the scribe tool after each use to prevent color mixing.
After pulling the scribe tool down through the icing, repeat the process by pulling it up through the icing in between the downward lines. This will create a crisscross pattern. Repeat this process in the empty section of the cookie. Allow the icing to crust over.
Pipe Scallop Edge with Stiff Neon Green Icing: Using stiff green royal icing, pipe a line where the blue and pink icings meet in each section. Pipe a scallop edge along each of the lines.
*To create a beautifully decorated egg cookie with a medallion stencil design, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Divide the Egg Cookies into Sections: Divide the egg cookies into three sections, with the middle section being the widest. Flood the Middle Section with Pink Icing: Using pink flood consistency icing, outline and flood the middle section of the egg cookie. Use a scribe tool to smooth and shape the pink icing. Allow the icing to crust over.
Airbrush the Medallion Stencil: Airbrush the medallion stencil onto the pink section of the cookie using soft pink airbrush color. Ensure an even and crisp print. Let the print dry completely before proceeding.
Flood the Top and Bottom Sections with Yellow and Blue Icing: Flood and outline the top section of the egg cookie with yellow flood consistency icing. Flood and outline the bottom section of the egg cookie with blue flood consistency icing. Set the cookies aside to allow the icing to dry thoroughly.
Pipe a Scallop Edge with Neon Green Icing: Using stiff green icing, pipe a line where the sections meet on each cookie. Pipe a scallop edge along each of the lines to add decorative detail.
Decorate the Medallion with Colored Dots: Pipe colored dots in orange, yellow, and blue onto the medallion design to add vibrant decoration and contrast.
Allow the cookies to dry overnight to ensure that the icing sets completely and the decorations are secure.
By following these steps, you'll create a beautifully decorated egg-shaped cookie with colorful stripes, texture, and sprinkles, perfect for Easter celebrations!
