  • Orange Soft Gel Paste™ Food Color
  • Lemon Yellow Soft Gel Paste™ Food Color
  • Neon/Electric Blue Soft Gel Paste™ Food Color
  • Bright Shimmer Jimmies

Instructions

Cookie Preparation:
Cut and Bake: Use a 3 ½ inch donut cutter to cut out your favorite sugar cookies. Bake and cool accordingly.
Royal Icing Preparation:
For Flood Consistency:
White: Prepare flood consistency royal icing in white for the plaque cookie.
Donut Color: Prepare flood consistency royal icing in a color resembling a donut for outlining and flooding the donut.
Donut Icing Drip Color: Choose a color for the icing drip on the donut; for instance, we used blue.
For Lettering:
Soft Peak Black: Prepare soft peak royal icing in black for piping the lettering on the cookies.
Ensure all icing colors are mixed to the desired consistency for smooth decorating. Let's get ready to bring these cookies to life with our deliciously colorful and perfectly textured royal icing!
Decorating Donut Cookies:
Outline: Use donut-colored flood consistency royal icing to outline both the donut and the donut hole. Smooth and shape the icing with a scribe tool. Let the cookies dry for 30-45 minutes.
Flood: Outline and flood the donut icing with blue flood royal icing. Add your favorite jimmies to the wet icing. Leave the cookies to dry overnight before packaging.
Plaque Cookie:
Outline: Outline the cookie with white flood consistency royal icing. Let it set up for 5 minutes.
Flood: Flood the entire surface of the cookie with icing and smooth with a scribe tool. Allow the icing to dry for 30-45 minutes.
Decoration: With soft peak black royal icing, freehand "Dad, I love you a Hole lot!"
Leave cookies to completely dry overnight before packaging.
