Ingredients

  • Cupcakes
  • Buttercream
  • Piping bag with a large round tip
  • Stencil (5-inch stencils, you can fit about 4 cupcakes on each)
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Luster dust (various colors for accent and depth)
  • Fluffy brush
  • Complimentary sprinkle mix
  • Jewel dust spray

Instructions

Prepare the Stencil and Baking Sheet:
Place a stencil on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Pipe the Buttercream:
Pipe a buttercream swirl onto each cupcake.
Invert the cupcakes and gently press them onto the stencil. You can fit about 4 cupcakes on each 5-inch stencil.
Freeze the Cupcakes:
Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 20-25 minutes, or until the buttercream is firm.
Check if the buttercream is sticking to the parchment. If it is, place the baking sheet back in the freezer for an additional 10 minutes.
Remove the Parchment:
Once the buttercream is set, flip the cupcakes back and carefully remove the parchment paper while leaving the stencil attached.
Apply Luster Dust:
Using a fluffy brush, apply luster dust to the accent design in the stencil.
Brush on an accent color to give your design some depth and an ombre effect.
Ensure you brush on enough dust to saturate the buttercream design.
Peel Off the Stencil:
Gently peel the stencil from the cupcake, revealing the intricate design.
Decorate the Sides:
Dip the sides of the cupcakes into a complimentary sprinkle mix to add texture and color.
Final Touch:
Finish the cupcakes with a light spray of jewel dust for added sparkle and shine.
Enjoy your beautifully decorated buttercream stenciled cupcakes!
