Fanciful Hand-Piped Chocolate Filigree

Get ready to create delicate, detailed filigree decorations with chocolate. These instructions guide you through the process so you can achieve precise, elegant designs for your desserts.

Ingredients

  • Candy coating or chocolate
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat
  • Filigree design (printed or hand-drawn)
  • Squeeze bottle or small pastry/paper bag
  • Straight pin or needle tool for lifting

Instructions

Prepare your design
Draw or print the filigree pattern you want to create. Duplicate the design multiple times—make a few extras to account for pieces that might break. Place parchment paper over the printed design so the pattern is visible beneath.
Melt the chocolate
Melt the candy coating according to package directions until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate into a squeeze bottle or a parchment paper bag with a small corner snipped for fine piping.
Pipe the filigree
Carefully trace the design on the parchment paper with the melted chocolate. Steady hands are key—take your time and follow the lines precisely.

Pipe over design

Allow to set
Let the piped filigree cool and harden completely.
Remove the decorations
Gently lift the filigree from the parchment using a straight pin or needle tool, working slowly to avoid breakage.

Allow to set up and carefully remove, using a straight pin.
