Ingredients and Supplies
- 12"- 6" tall cake
- 10"- 4" tall cake
- 8" - 6" tall cake
- 6" and 8"- 3" tall styrofoam dummies
- blue, green, yellow and brown rolled fondant
- chocolate buttercream
Roll out fondant and cut assorted sizes of different flower shapes. Get creative and cut tips off flowers and distort petals to create unique looking shapes. Repeat with other colors. Stack flowers and centers together to create multiple colors for each flower, attach layers together by brushing lightly with water in the center of the flower. Allow stacked flower to dry overnight.
Cover 12" cake in blue fondant, 10" cake in green fondant and 8" cake in yellow fondant. Roll out chocolate fondant and cut 3" tall strip longe enough to go around 6" and 8" styrofoam dummies. Brush styrofoam with piping gel and attach fondant, completely covering sides of styrofoam. Use metal quilting tool to emboss quilting design on both layers. Roll out chocolate/brown fondant and cut 1 3/4" wide strip to go around 12" and 8" tiers. Use stitching tool along both edges of ribbon. Mark center of cake and lightly brush with water. Apply fondant ribbon around cake. Stack cake using preferred method of dowels, plates and pillars (put cardboard or plate under each styrofoam and support as normal underneath, cardboard or plate on top tiers will rest on top of styrofoam). Use dot of buttercream to attach flowers along ribbon band on top and bottom tier and randomly on middle tier. Cut out graduated scalloped disks of each color fondant and stack on top of 8" cake. Use chocolate buttercream to pipe border around base of each cake, styrofoam and graduated disk on top. Place whimsical topper on top.
