  • square chocolate candy mold
Form cake ball mixture into half moons, making the bottom flat. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Melt candy coatings. Make mortar board tops using square candy mold but not filling them all the way to the top; only thick enough to keep them from breaking. Place mold in freezer to set. When candy is cold and mold is cloudy, remove from freezer and release candy. Remove half moons from refrigerator; insert sucker stick into melted candy coating then into half moon. Allow to set. Dip half moon into melted candy coating and allow excess coating to drip off. Place in styrofoam or sucker holder and attach mortar board to wet coating. Use parchment bag filled with light cocoa candy coating to pipe tassles.
