Ingredients and Supplies
3 cups sugar
1 3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
5 cups (1 1/2 lb.) raw Spanish peanuts
2 T. butter
3/4 T. baking soda
1 t. salt

Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to 240 degrees. Add raw Spanish peanuts. Cook to 295 degrees, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add butter. Stir until dissolved. Add baking soda and salt, stirring vigorously. Pour out on a buttered slab or buttered large baking sheet, spreading as thin as possible. Allow to cool. Spread melted candy coating over the brittle and sprinkle with orange jimmies. Allow chocolate to set up, then break apart.
