Gum Paste Recipe- using tylose

- 1 egg white
- 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 2 rounded teaspoon tylose
Beat egg white lightly. Add powdered sugar slowly until a soft peak is formed. Add tylose. The mixture will immediately thicken. Gradually add more powdered sugar until a pliable texture is achieved. Rub a little vegetable shortening on your hands and work paste thoroughly. Gumpaste should not be sticky or hard. Paste is ready to use immediately. Store in a sealed plastic bag in a sealed plastic container for up to 3 months.
