Ingredients and Supplies
8" heart-shaped cake, lightly frosted
red rolled fondant
light pink rolled fondant
impression mat or texture sheet
chocolate molded candies
piping gel
pastry brush
pearl dust
mop brush

Instructions
Make and mold chocolate candies. Roll red fondant about 1/4" thick; then use impression mat or texture sheet to pattern the fondant. Using pan that you baked the cake in as a pattern, cut a heart shape for your lid. Set aside and allow to dry for at least 24 hours. Using the same patterned fondant, cut strips for sides that measures 1/4" higher than the sides of the cake. Carefully wrap around sides of cake attaching fondant with piping gel using the pastry brush. Roll light pink fondant very thin; you should be able to gather the fondant without tearing it. Use the pan to get an idea of how big you need to cut your piece for the inside of the box. You will need extra for this piece so that it can be gathered and tucked slightly into the sides of the cake. Dust piece with pearl dust. Brush top of cake with piping gel and arrange piece of fondant to look like a silk box lining. Fold or tuck edges down the sides of the cake. Place chocolates on soft fondant. Cut a ribbon for the top of the box with the same fondant used for the liner; brush with pearl dust and attach with piping gel. Prepare a bow; allow to dry and attach to ribbon.
