Ingredients and Supplies
3-D santa pan
cake mix
white fondant
assorted luster dust colors
lemon oil
buttercream icing
Instructions
Bake cake in each half of the santa pan according to mix instructions. Allow cake to cool. Trim off any excess so cake is level with the top of the pan. Remove cakes from pan and wash pans thoroughly. Roll fondant out to approximately 1/8" thickness. Roll piece large enough that it will cover 1 half of santa. Gently place fondant into clean cavity of front of pan and press firmly to copy all the indentions. Put thin layer of buttercream on front of santa and place into fondant lined pan. Trim fondant so level with edge of cake. Repeat with back of santa. Spread a thin layer of buttercream on top of one cake and then carefully lift pans together and allow buttercream to hold both halves together. Remove pans. Use small amount of buttercream to seal gap between front and back. Use luster dust mixed with small amount of lemon oil to paint santa.
