Specially treated pastry cloth will not absorb grease or moisture and keeps dough from sticking. Without the pastry cloth and rolling pin cover, additional flour must be added to prevent the dough from sticking. This makes the finished product coarse, tough, and distasteful instead of a tender, flaky crust or crisp cookie. Mildew resistant.
