Ingredients and Supplies
  • 6", 8" and 10" Cake
  • 5 lbs. Black Fondant
  • 1 lb. White Fondant
  • Royal Icing
  • Black Food Coloring
Cover all 3 tiers with black fondant. Stack cake with all three tiers stacked toward the back. Use excess black fondant to cut out 3 music notes with a cookie cutter. Carefully insert floral wire into base of each note and allow to dry overnight. Roll white fondant out very then and use a scalloped edge pastry roller to cut fondant into 12"- 18" rectangles. Color a small amount of royal icing black. Place music note stencil on top of white fondant piece. Hold stencil securely and use offset spatula to spread black royal icing over stencil. Carefully pick up stencil to not smudge design. Allow to dry for a few minutes and carefully drape down cake. Use toothpicks and piping gel as necessary to secure and prop up portions of the draping fondant. Repeat for 2 additional pieces of white fondant. After music notes have hardened insert floral wire into top of cake.
