Ingredients and Supplies
You will need 3 hard candy molds for each batch of hard candy. Spray the molds with a cooking spray, put 4 1/2" sucker sticks or pencil pops in place and set aside. Make hard candy mix according to directions. Add desired flavors and colors. Pictured is red coloring with cinnamon oil and blue coloring with wintergreen oil. Spray funnel and stopper with a cooking spray. Pour the hot syrup into the funnel and drop into prepared molds. Let cool and remove from molds. Mix up royal icing. Color flesh and thin with water, just enough that when drop onto a surface, the royal icing becomes smooth by the time you count to ten, but is not watery. Put thinned icing into a decorating bag, fitted with tip #6. Pipe faces with the thinned icing in the center of the hard candy suckers. All an hour to harden. With tip #2 in a decorating bag and thinned flesh-colored icing, pipe a nose in the center of each face. Gently dot eyes and make a mouth, using food color pens, filled with red and brown air brush color. Pipe hair with tip #2, desired color. Pipe caps with royal icing, colored desired color and tip #4. Pipe tassels with tip #1, desired color. Attach pencils to suckers with pencil pops.
