Ingredients and Supplies
- red candy coating
- yellow candy coating
- light green candy coating
- chocolate jimmies
- sucker sticks
- greenish-brown colored fondant
- cake pop mixture
- sucker stand or small piece of styrofoam
Form cake mixture into apple shapes. This is not an exact process; it is dependent on your interpretation of each piece. Be sure to make the top of the shape wider than the bottom and make an indent on the top of the piece for the stem. Once you have your shapes made, place them back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm.
Prepare for dipping by inserting coating covered stick into your shape. Let set. Once set, hold shape over the bowl full of candy coating and spoon coating over the shape. Allow excess coating to fall; be careful not to tap the shapes; tapping could loosen the hold of the stick. Place shape into holder and immediately place long, chocolate jimmies into the top of the apple. Let pop dry completely. Using fondant colored greenish-brown, form leaves and attach to apple with piping gel or coating.
