Instructions

Here are some techniques for decorating these cookies.
Reindeer:
After the deer head has been flooded and dried, create a textured fur surface by painting on additional royal icing and let dry. Pipe antlers in white royal icing and let dry. Paint the antlers gold using a mixture of gold luster dust and grain alcohol. Spritz the bottom of a red candy wafer with jewel dust before attaching it as the nose.
Royal icing: flood brown and white.
Tree:
Outline and flood the cookie, then sprinkle moss on top. To make moss, grate a cookie using a microplane and mix with forest green gel food color.
Royal icing: flood gray.
Present:
Outline and flood the cookie, then gently tap down parchment paper on top. Let dry overnight before peeling off the parchment. Splatter the cookie with a paint made from gold luster dust and grain alcohol. Pipe a string to tie up the package.
Royal icing: flood white, medium peak brown.
Mitten:
Paint the cookie with royal icing, leaving a textured surface. Pipe a knit design with medium peak icing.
Royal icing: medium peak wedgewood blue
Poinsettia:
Apply leaves and petals using stiff royal icing and a palette knife, then add gold sugar pearls for the center and a spritz of jewel dust.
Royal icing: medium peak red and green.
Stocking:
We painted a blue plaid pattern on the stocking using food gel color mixed with water.
Royal icing: flood red and white, medium peak red
Snow Globe:
Outline and flood the sky and snow-covered ground, then let the icing crust over before outlining and flooding the base. Pipe remaining details with medium stiff icing.
Royal icing: flood white, blue and gray. Medium peak brown, green and red
Wreath:
Red bow is piped with medium peak red icing. Pipe a brown string as an inset outline for the greenery.
Royal Icing: flood white, medium peak in brown and green.
