Ingredients

  • Pumpkin Cookie Cutter #2

  • Scriber Needle Modeling Tool
  • Bronze Sterling Pearl Dust
  • Gold Edible Jewel Dust® Glitter & Dust Pump
  • White Mini Rose Icing Decorations
  • #349 Leaf/Lily Petal Stainless Steel Piping Tip

Instructions

Outline the Cookie:
Use white royal icing to outline the entire edge of the pumpkin-shaped cookie and the stem.
Divide the Pumpkin:
Divide the pumpkin into three sections by piping two lines vertically from the top to the bottom of the cookie. Aim for equal spacing between the lines, creating three distinct sections.
Allow to Dry:
Let the outlined cookie and stem dry for 5 minutes.
Flood the First and Third Sections:
Flood the first and third sections of the pumpkin along with the stem, using the white royal icing. Use a scribe tool to smooth the icing and ensure it reaches the outlined edge without overflowing.
Let Dry:
Let the flooded sections and stem dry for about 15-20 minutes.
Flood the Center Section:
Flood the center section of the pumpkin with the white royal icing.
Allow to Dry Again:
Let the entire cookie dry for 15-20 minutes.
Create the Bronze Paint:
Mix bronze luster dust with grain alcohol (or clear extract) to create a paint-like consistency. Adjust the amount of luster dust to achieve the desired shade of bronze.
Splatter the Pumpkin:
Dip a paintbrush into the bronze paint and lightly tap it over the surface of the pumpkin to create a splatter effect. Concentrate the splatters on the flooded sections. Use a smaller brush to brush the stem with the bronze paint.
Pipe Leaves:
Prepare stiff royal icing and fill a piping bag fitted with a leaf tip. Pipe three leaves onto the cookie, positioning them near the stem.
Add Royal Icing Rose:
Place a royal icing rose in the center of the leaves. You can either make these yourself or buy pre-made royal icing roses.
Final Touches:
Allow the decorated cookie to dry completely before serving or packaging.
