3-D Solid
Ingredients and Supplies
Instructions
LARGE SOLID 3-D CANDY: Paint any details with candy writers if desired. For details, use any colors of coating except the color you will be filling the mold with. Let details set up room temperature. Clip front and back of mold together with bull Dog Clips. Bulldog Clips are very strong clips which hold the molds tightly together. The tighter and closer to the seam, the cleaner the 3-D candy will be. If the mold's front and back are on one sheet, you will need to cut them apart, then clip them together (most front and back of molds have notches that fit together). Cut close to the cavity if necessary for the clips to be close to the seam. A hole on the bottom of the mold is necessary for this method. Some molds have holes on the bottom of one side or you may need to cut a hole on the bottom of one side of the mold. Fill a Squeeze bottle with melted coating. Fill the mold by squirting coating into mold, through the hole. Set in freezer upside down so candy does not run out. Place mold in freezer until set (mold should feel cold and be cloudy) and carefully remove clips and mold from candy. If details stay in mold, candy was not cold enough. SMALL SOLID 3-D CANDY: Cut molds apart. Paint any details with candy writers on both parts of 3-D mold if desired. When set, fill front mold with coating using a squeeze bottle or spoon (pour or squirt coating over the painted details). Allow to set up room temperature. Fill back mold very full with coating. If 3-D mold is a sucker mold, place sucker stick in at this point. Place front "just set" mold on top of the back, securing with bull dog clips or paper clips. Put into freezer and let harden. Remove from mold. If details stay in mold, candy was not cold enough. Note: The sheep pictured with covered with super pearl luster dust after it was removed from the mold.
